Embracing the Journey: How Every Step Counts

Hey everyone! I recently stumbled upon this insightful piece by Jason Feifer and thought of sharing my takeaways with you all.

Let's be honest, we've all had moments where we felt we were not reaching our goals as fast as we'd like. And you know, sometimes that goal seems like a distant dream. It's easy to ask, “Shouldn’t I be there by now?”

Jason touches on this feeling, and he shares a personal story. He often gives keynote speeches, and while sometimes he’s greeted with packed rooms, there are days he faces near-empty ones. As a speaker, an empty room might feel like a slap in the face, signaling a lack of success. But then he had an epiphany. What if these empty rooms are just part of the journey?

He beautifully says, “The path to success goes through empty rooms.” It means every empty room isn’t a failure; it’s progress. One step closer to that 'always full' room.

Jason also mentions a golden nugget from Drew Barrymore. She once advised, instead of constantly fixating on future goals, sometimes take a step back and list out what you've accomplished. An "I've done this" list.

And here's what struck a chord with me: Even when you feel you’re trudging through molasses, remember it's all progress. It’s all part of a bigger picture.

In the end, it’s not about how clear the path is, but the steps you’re taking, the lessons you’re learning, and the progress you're making. Just because you can't always see where you’re going doesn’t mean you aren’t on the right track.

Remember, you've come far and every step forward, no matter how tiny, is progress.
